Inspection Quality Engineer – First Article Inspection

About the role

Join Martin‑Baker’s Inspection Team as a First Article Inspector, supporting the world‑leading ejection seat programme. You will plan, execute and report on First Article Inspection (FAI) and Patrol Inspection activities, ensuring compliance with aerospace quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan First Article Inspection activities against programme requirements and schedule Patrol Inspection audits.
• Perform First Article Inspections on top‑level seat assemblies and deliverable items, producing detailed reports.
• Carry out Patrol Inspection audits, document findings and follow‑up corrective actions.
• Verify that completed FAIs meet QAI‑148 / AS9102 standards.
• Maintain a Measure of Effectiveness spreadsheet for corrective‑action notifications.

Required profile

• Manufacturing or engineering background; aerospace experience is highly desirable.
• Experience as a Quality Engineer or Inspector.
• Knowledge of AS9100 audits and AS9102 First Article Inspection processes.
• Familiarity with Qpulse QPM software and SAP (or equivalent) systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, 2‑D and 3‑D images.
