Insurance Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a diligent and motivated Insurance Specialist to join our team in Cheltenham. The role focuses on processing London Market insurance underwriting data accurately, applying technical knowledge, and supporting service excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Process London Market underwriting data in line with established procedure guides.
• Analyse technical data and calculate transactions, including limits, premiums and deductions.
• Manage internal and external queries to ensure data accuracy and processing efficiency.
• Develop and deliver training solutions, providing guidance and feedback to the team.
• Organise and maintain documentation for data processing, prioritising workflow.
• Produce internal and client‑facing reports with accuracy and clarity.
• Identify and recommend enhancements to technical procedure guides and communicate approved changes.
• Provide solutions to clients when technical challenges arise.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in the insurance industry.
• Strong commitment to service excellence and client satisfaction.
• Effective verbal and written communication for internal and external collaboration.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
• Minimum 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including Mathematics and English.
• Motivation to pursue Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) qualifications.

Required skills

• Comprehensive understanding of insurance market structures, practices and regulations.
• Knowledge of direct and reinsurance placements.
• Ability to interpret insurance documentation and data.
