Integrated Commissioning Manager

About the role

To develop strategic priorities and lead design and commissioning for population or local authority services, improving quality and value for money while aligning with national and local priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver complex project plans, monitor progress, resolve issues to keep projects on time and within budget.
• Work closely with finance, procurement and legal officers to ensure timely, competitive, transparent procurement processes.
• Support senior leaders in Children’s and Adults Services to achieve value for money from third‑party spend and collaborate across boroughs and the ICB on joint contracts.
• Lead commissioning projects that shape the provider market, develop market management strategies and chair inter‑agency or multi‑disciplinary meetings.
• Maintain expert knowledge of legislation, guidelines and government policy to support collaboration with service managers.
• Contribute to Joint Strategic Needs Assessment and Health and Wellbeing Strategy alongside strategy, performance and public health leads.
• Facilitate stakeholder involvement through workshops, consultation events, forums and steering groups.
• Represent departmental commissioning at cross‑agency strategy, planning and development meetings.

Required profile

• Experience in commissioning, project delivery and stakeholder management within local authority or health settings.
• Strong understanding of public sector procurement, finance and legal processes.
• Ability to develop strategic priorities and influence provider markets.

Required skills

• Knowledge of relevant legislation, guidelines and government policy.
• Experience with project planning and monitoring tools.
