Intensive Support Worker

About the role

The Intensive Support Worker provides day‑to‑day, trauma‑informed assistance to individuals experiencing entrenched rough sleeping and multiple disadvantage. Working closely with the Intensive Support Lead, you will help people sustain accommodation, overcome barriers and move towards greater stability at a pace that suits them.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver intensive, flexible support in line with person‑centred plans, including during crises or periods of disengagement.
• Develop, review and update support plans to reflect changing needs and goals.
• Build respectful, non‑judgemental relationships that encourage trust and long‑term stability.
• Assist individuals with tenancy responsibilities such as rent, utilities, budgeting and maintaining a safe home.
• Identify early signs of risk to accommodation and raise concerns promptly.
• Respond to safeguarding issues, complete risk assessments and create safety plans.
• Work safely within lone‑working and dynamic risk‑management frameworks, escalating when necessary.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies, sharing information in line with data‑protection policies.
• Advocate for service users to access needed services and overcome barriers.
• Maintain accurate case records and contribute to outcome monitoring and reporting.

Required profile

• Experience or strong interest in supporting people who are rough sleepers or face multiple disadvantages.
• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and during periods of crisis.
• Comfortable working alone and making professional judgments in dynamic environments.
• Commitment to trauma‑informed, person‑centred practice and safeguarding principles.
