Intercity Bus & Coach Driver – Inverness

About the role

Ember, the UK’s first fully‑electric, zero‑emission coach company, is expanding its Inverness operations. We are looking for professional drivers to join our fast‑growing team, with start dates from May 2026. The role involves operating electric coaches on intercity routes while delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Operate electric coaches safely and keep services running on schedule.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for passengers, assisting with queries and luggage.
• Maintain the coach interior clean and presentable throughout the day.
• Use Ember’s proprietary technology systems to enhance the passenger experience.
• Perform light cleaning duties and report any issues to the support team.
• Provide constructive feedback to improve operations and service quality.

Required profile

• Full PCV licence (Category D) as a minimum.
• Current CPC and digital tachograph card, or ability to obtain them quickly.
• Demonstrated high‑quality, safe driving with smooth braking.
• Flexibility to work early, late or night shifts on any day of the week.

What we offer

• £1,000 sign‑on bonus payable after six months.
• Starting rate £16.50 per hour, rising to £17.30 after one year.
• £17.90 per hour for Ember Ambassadors who exemplify our values.
• Relief contracts at £18.49 per hour (base rate plus holiday pay).
• Overtime rates beginning at £19.80 per hour.
