Intercity Bus & Coach Driver – Uig/Portree

About the role

Ember is the UK’s first fully‑electric, zero‑emission coach company and is expanding to the Isle of Skye. We are seeking professional drivers to join our pioneering team in Uig/Portree, delivering reliable intercity services across Scotland.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the electric coach safely and keep it moving on schedule.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for passengers, assisting with luggage, answering queries and providing a friendly welcome.
• Maintain the interior of the coach, performing light cleaning duties throughout the day.
• Use Ember’s new technology systems to enhance the passenger experience.
• Provide constructive feedback to improve daily operations and service quality.

Required profile

• Full PCV licence – Category D minimum.
• Current CPC and digital tachograph card (or ability to obtain them quickly).
• Demonstrated high‑quality driving with smooth braking and a strong safety focus.
• Flexibility to work early, late or night shifts on any day of the week.

What we offer

• Starting rate of £17.50 per hour, rising to £18.30 after one year.
• Additional £0.60 per hour for Ember Ambassadors who exemplify company values.
• Relief contracts at £19.61 per hour and overtime rates from £21.00 per hour.
• Free CPC renewal for full‑time and part‑time drivers.
• 28 days paid annual holiday (pro‑rated) with flexible leave requests.
