Interim Accountant – Children's Social Care (Hybrid, £450/day)

About the role

We are partnering with a West London Local Authority to find an experienced Interim Accountant to join the Children’s Social Care finance team. This hybrid role offers the chance to provide high‑level financial management support across the directorate.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage budgets, forecasts and financial reporting for the Children’s Social Care directorate.
• Partner with budget holders and provide business‑partnering insights.
• Manage grant funding, ensuring compliance and accurate reporting.
• Support year‑end close activities and financial statements.
• Oversee staffing budgets, establishment control and workforce financial reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Local Authority finance.
• Previous work supporting Children’s Social Care finance functions.
• Experience managing and monitoring grant funding.
• Demonstrated ability to handle staffing budgets and establishment reporting.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis capabilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and business‑partnering skills.
• Good knowledge of Local Government finance processes and systems.
