Interim Asset Manager – Social Housing (London)

About the role

The client, a leading social housing organisation in London, is seeking an interim Asset Manager to provide strategic leadership across its housing portfolio. You will guide a high‑performing team to meet regulatory standards, improve energy performance and develop long‑term investment plans.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and maintenance of the housing asset database and stock intelligence systems.
• Design and deliver long‑term investment plans, lifecycle programmes and asset strategies.
• Drive EPC C targets, sustainability and retrofit programmes, and create a practical Zero‑Carbon roadmap.
• Oversee stock condition surveys and ensure data‑driven investment decisions.
• Manage HRA land and asset matters, including option appraisals and disposals.
• Ensure compliance with building safety, Decent Homes, HHSRS and other housing regulations.
• Collaborate with finance teams on business planning and investment modelling.
• Build strong relationships with residents, contractors and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Significant experience in housing asset management within a social housing environment.
• Deep knowledge of Decent Homes, HHSRS, building safety and housing compliance.
• Proven track record of developing investment programmes and lifecycle planning models.
• Experience delivering retrofit, EPC improvement and zero‑carbon strategies.
• Strong financial and commercial awareness, including budgeting and business planning.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
