Interim Auditor – Immediate Start – Property

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Interim Auditor to join a busy audit team supporting a portfolio of property and construction clients. This temporary position offers an immediate start and the chance to lead audit engagements from planning through to completion while working within a well‑established accountancy practice.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver audit assignments from planning to finalisation.
• Manage audits for a diverse range of property and construction sector clients.
• Review and assess financial statements prepared under UK GAAP and FRS 102.
• Evaluate revenue recognition, work‑in‑progress, contract accounting and project‑related financial controls.
• Examine fixed‑asset registers, development property valuations, investment property portfolios and construction contracts.
• Liaise directly with clients, communicate findings and resolve audit queries efficiently.
• Identify audit risks and ensure compliance with audit and accounting standards.
• Support managers and partners with technical matters and engagement delivery.
• Prepare and review audit documentation to a high professional standard.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience with substantial audit exposure).
• Strong external audit background gained within an accountancy practice environment.
• Demonstrable experience auditing property developers, construction companies, contractors, housing associations or real‑estate businesses.
