Interim Capital Project Manager – Construction & Fire Remediation

About the role

This interim position offers the chance to lead a diverse portfolio of refurbishment, compliance and fire‑remediation projects across residential and healthcare properties. You will ensure each project is delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required statutory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of compliance, fire‑remedial and capital works projects from inception to completion.
• Oversee contractors, issue orders, manage variations, chair progress meetings and authorise payments.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality and contractor performance.
• Collaborate with contract administrators, consultants, principal designers and principal contractors.
• Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, Building Regulations and other statutory requirements.
• Review contractor documentation such as RAMS and Construction Phase Plans.
• Monitor budgets, programmes and risks, identifying value‑for‑money opportunities.
• Produce progress reports and maintain strong relationships with residents, housing teams and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering construction, refurbishment, compliance or capital works projects.
• Strong contract management skills, including handling variations and valuations.
• Hands‑on experience inspecting works on site and ensuring quality and contractual compliance.
• Good knowledge of Building Regulations, CDM Regulations and health & safety requirements.
• Experience managing project budgets and delivering value for money.
• Excellent organisational and stakeholder‑management abilities.

What we offer

• Daily rate of £400–£450 (Umbrella), Inside IR35.
• Interim contract until April 2027 with potential extension.
