Interim Commercial Finance Manager

About the role

This interim position supports a high‑profile contract within a fast‑growing infrastructure business. You will lead a team of commercial finance professionals and provide financial insight to senior stakeholders as the organisation drives cash generation and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of five senior and operational commercial finance staff.
• Own forecasting, financial reporting and performance analysis for a major client contract.
• Improve cash collection, strengthen financial controls and enhance existing processes.
• Identify margin improvement opportunities and translate them into cash generation.
• Collaborate with operational and commercial teams to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Qualified, part‑qualified or experienced finance professional.
• Previous experience as a Finance Business Partner, Senior Finance Business Partner or Commercial Finance Manager.
• Proven track record of delivering process improvements and influencing cross‑functional teams.
• Experience managing and developing finance teams.
• Commercially focused with the ability to deliver results in a fast‑paced environment.

What we offer

• Day rate of £450‑£550, inside IR35.
• Initial 6‑9 month contract with potential extension.
• Hybrid working – 2‑3 days per week in the Lancashire office.
