Interim Credit Risk Specialist – Finance (Energy)

About the role

This interim position supports the day‑to‑day management of credit risk for an energy‑focused finance team in London. You will assess counter‑party creditworthiness, monitor exposures and ensure decisions align with internal policies and the organisation’s risk appetite.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the financial standing of new and existing business partners and provide credit recommendations.
• Monitor credit exposures, identify potential risks and escalate issues where appropriate.
• Prepare regular risk reports and provide insights for effective risk management.
• Maintain credit limits, records and supporting documentation.
• Support the administration of credit agreements and security arrangements.
• Contribute to the improvement of credit processes, controls and reporting.
• Collaborate with Finance, Commercial, Trading, Treasury and other functions to deliver credit risk support.
• Assist with internal governance, audit activities and accurate documentation.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in credit risk, credit control or financial analysis.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret financial information and assess risk.
• Good understanding of credit management principles and commercial decision‑making.
• Well‑organised with excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
