About the role
This interim position supports a public‑sector client in London, working under the direction of a Data Architect. The role runs from ASAP until the end of March 2027 and follows a hybrid model with 2‑3 days on‑site each week.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes within the agreed architecture.
- Support data ingestion, transformation, cleaning and linking of multiple datasets.
- Develop and maintain APIs and other data integrations.
- Manage and maintain the data platform, including Power BI connections, datasets and refresh processes.
- Implement security controls, resolve technical and data‑quality issues, and contribute to testing and documentation.
Required profile
- Extensive data engineering experience in the public sector.
- Proven ability to work in an Agile delivery model with shared backlogs.
- Experience delivering under a Data Architect’s guidance and collaborating with product managers and stakeholders.
Required skills
- Python with core data‑science libraries (NumPy, pandas, polar).
- SQL and relational database expertise.
- Microsoft Azure cloud data platform.
- Power BI for data connections, datasets and refreshes.
