Interim Employee Relations Advisor

About the role

This interim position supports the HR team of a global academic and media organisation. Based in Abingdon, you will provide day‑to‑day employee‑relations advice, helping managers handle disciplinary, grievance and performance matters while ensuring consistent application of policies.

Key responsibilities

• Offer guidance on employee‑relations issues, including disciplinary and grievance cases.
• Assist managers with performance management and absence handling.
• Ensure HR policies and procedures are applied uniformly across the business.
• Draft and review HR documentation such as letters and reports.
• Maintain accurate case records and contribute to policy development.
• Provide training and support to managers on employee‑relations topics.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an employee‑relations or HR advisory role.
• Good understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritise effectively.
• Proactive, solution‑focused approach.
