Interim Finance Manager – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

A well‑established, family‑owned, multi‑site social care provider is seeking interim support within its finance team during a period of maternity leave. The business operates several sites, has a stable leadership team and a collaborative culture, with finance playing a key role in operational and commercial decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Report directly to the Managing Director and work alongside an experienced Financial Controller.
• Provide financial management support across a portfolio of sites.
• Perform management accounting, month‑end reporting and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and contribute to group‑level reporting packs.
• Partner with site‑based administration teams to ensure accurate financial information.
• Oversee income streams and funding mechanisms, including exposure to local authority funding.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Finance Manager or Management Accountant.
• Strong month‑end and management accounts expertise.
• Experience using Xero (highly advantageous).
• Ability to produce budgets, forecasts and group reporting packs.
• Collaborative approach with operational stakeholders and senior management.
• Knowledge of funding processes within the care sector (beneficial).
• Qualified or qualified by experience.
• Proactive, hands‑on attitude suited to an SME environment.
