Interim Finance Manager – 6‑Month Fixed‑Term

About the role

This interim position offers a six‑month fixed‑term opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to join a well‑established manufacturing business in Haydock. You will work closely with the Group Financial Controller and senior leadership to ensure the finance function runs smoothly during a busy period.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts with detailed variance analysis.
• Lead the year‑end audit process and coordinate statutory reporting.
• Maintain balance‑sheet reconciliations, trial‑balance integrity and the nominal ledger.
• Oversee the Accounts Assistant and manage sales and purchase ledgers.
• Manage cash flow, invoice‑finance facilities, import loans and banking relationships.
• Provide financial insight in operational meetings to support purchasing decisions.
• Oversee credit control, debtor management and payroll information for the external provider.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, Plastic Packaging Tax and other statutory requirements.
• Handle inter‑company reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Identify and implement process improvements and support finance system enhancements.

Required profile

• ACCA/CIMA qualified, part‑qualified or qualified by experience.
• Proven experience as a Finance Manager or in a senior finance role within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work autonomously from day one and thrive in a fast‑paced setting.
