Interim Finance Manager – Senior Fixed‑Term Role

About the role

This is a senior, full‑time interim finance position based in Liverpool, covering a maternity leave period. You will act as the Number Two to the Finance Director, leading a small finance team while driving key projects and system improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the day‑to‑day finance function and support the Finance Director and board.
• Manage, coach and develop a small finance team.
• Produce monthly management accounts, budgeting and forecasting.
• Partner with operational leaders and budget holders across the business.
• Drive process improvements, systems development and automation initiatives.
• Lead finance projects and enhance reporting across multiple finance systems.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Previous experience as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or Senior Finance Business Partner.
• Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.
• Systems‑savvy with a keen interest in process improvement, automation and technology.
• Proven leadership experience in complex organisations with diverse revenue streams or high‑volume transactional environments.
