Interim Financial Accountant – Charity (6‑Month Contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Interim Financial Accountant to support a well‑known charity in Salford for a six‑month contract. The role is office‑based, full‑time, and starts immediately, offering the chance to make a direct impact on the organisation’s financial stability.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, forecasts and cash‑flow reports.
• Support budget planning in collaboration with senior stakeholders.
• Prepare annual accounts and coordinate with external auditors.
• Maintain robust financial controls, system integrity and accurate record‑keeping.
• Oversee bank reconciliations, payments and cash‑flow management.
• Assist with procurement processes and ensure financial governance.
• Participate in key committees and meetings, providing financial insight.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant or qualified by experience (QBE).
• Proven experience in a finance function, preferably within the charity sector.
• Demonstrated ability to produce management accounts, budgets and support audits.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non‑finance stakeholders.

Required skills

• Sage (or similar) accounting software.
