Interim Financial Accountant

About the role

This 12‑month interim assignment offers a qualified accountant the chance to support a high‑profile organisation in London. You will work closely with the Financial Accounting Manager to ensure accurate financial control, balance‑sheet reconciliation and statutory reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the year‑end closing process, including posting journals and audit adjustments.
• Implement and monitor internal control procedures related to the balance sheet.
• Monitor and forecast cash flow, maintain treasury management controls and bank positions.
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns for the charity and its trading companies.
• Assist in delivering consolidated statutory accounts for the organisation and its subsidiaries.

Required profile

• ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified accountant, or a finalist in one of these programmes.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and SORP.
• Experience in financial accounting, controls or audit, preferably within a charitable or corporate environment.
• Attention to detail and a proactive, technically astute approach.
