Interim Financial Accountant

About the role

This interim position provides maternity cover for a Financial Accountant within a well‑established manufacturing and engineering organisation. You will join a large, collaborative finance function and help maintain smooth financial operations during a critical 6‑9 month period.

Key responsibilities

• Complete month‑end and year‑end processes, including journal entries and supporting analysis.
• Prepare and support monthly and quarterly management reporting.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and ensure their accuracy.
• Assist with VAT, Corporation Tax and other statutory compliance activities.
• Help prepare annual tax returns.
• Support monthly forecasting and budgeting activities.
• Participate in internal audits and uphold company policies and controls.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Proven experience in a Financial Accountant or similar technical accounting role.
• Strong month‑end, balance‑sheet and financial reporting expertise.
• Experience supporting audit, tax and compliance functions.
• Availability to work on‑site for the full contract duration.
