Interim Financial Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an Interim Financial Accountant to join a fast‑growing Hampshire SME that is expanding internationally. Reporting to the Financial Controller and CFO, you will lead a defined finance transformation project ahead of the year‑end audit, with the opportunity to become permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a full review and cleanse of the Fixed Asset Register, validating existence, re‑classifying assets and reassessing useful lives, depreciation and impairment.
• Implement and optimise the Fixed Asset module in Dynamics 365 Business Central, including asset cards, depreciation books and posting groups, and automate the related accounting processes.
• Resolve balance‑sheet reconciliation issues, strengthen supporting schedules and ensure the balance sheet is audit‑ready.
• Set up new legal entities in the ERP with appropriate chart of accounts and dimensions.
• Support budget uploads and contribute to broader finance transformation initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA).
• Demonstrable experience managing a Fixed Asset Register and implementing related ERP modules.
• Strong background in financial accounting, balance‑sheet reconciliation and financial controls.
• Experience with ERP implementation, preferably Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Ability to own a workstream independently and meet audit deadlines.
