Interim Financial Controller – Part‑time (3 days/week)

About the role

This is a 4‑month interim position for a Financial Controller working three days a week (Tuesday‑Thursday) on site in Poole. You will report to the Finance Director (remote) and help assess the finances of a recently acquired SME with a turnover of around £10 million.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse monthly management accounts, produce reports and perform balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Post journals and maintain a hands‑on approach to day‑to‑day accounting.
• Support the Finance Coordinator and provide weekly updates to the Finance Director.
• Coach and develop junior finance team members.
• Liaise with the Sales Director to understand the business model and financial implications.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (preferred).
• Professional attitude with experience in SME environments.
• Proven ability to investigate discrepancies and improve financial systems.
• Strong collaborative and communication skills, especially with non‑financial colleagues.
• Experience in coaching or mentoring finance staff.

Required skills

• Sage 50 accounting software.
