Interim HR Generalist

About the role

This interim position supports a large, complex organisation undergoing a major workforce transition. The HR Generalist will focus on redundancy and collective consultation activities, ensuring compliance and a positive employee experience during change.

Key responsibilities

• Provide end‑to‑end HR support for redundancy and collective consultation programmes.
• Coordinate consultation meetings, employee briefings and individual discussions.
• Partner with HR, management and project stakeholders to deliver fair, compliant processes.
• Handle employee‑relations casework linked to organisational change.
• Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, records and reporting throughout the consultation process.
• Respond to employee and manager queries with professionalism and sensitivity.
• Assist with communications and change‑management activities to ensure clear messaging.
• Support wider HR operational tasks as required and identify process‑improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Generalist or Employee Relations professional within organisational change programmes.
• Direct involvement in redundancy exercises and collective consultation processes.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and change‑management principles.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with empathy.
• Highly organised with the capacity to manage competing priorities.
