Interim HR Manager – 6‑Week Temporary Contract

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR professional to step in as an Interim People Manager for a respected South London charity. This 6‑week hybrid contract will see you partner with senior leaders to strengthen people practices, employee relations and organisational culture during a critical period.

Key responsibilities

• Provide HR partnering and coaching to managers and senior leaders.
• Lead employee‑relations cases, including grievances, disciplinary actions, investigations and performance management.
• Support engagement, culture and organisational development initiatives.
• Improve HR policies, processes and performance frameworks.
• Develop and maintain HR systems (Breathe HR), reporting and people analytics.
• Assist with payroll, HR administration and workforce planning.
• Contribute to recruitment, onboarding and learning & development programmes.
• Build strong relationships across all levels, including union representatives.

Required profile

• CIPD Level 5 (or above) with solid HR Business Partner or People Partner experience.
• Strong background in employee relations and handling complex cases.
• Proven ability to support change, develop managers and work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience in the charity, healthcare, not‑for‑profit or unionised sectors is highly desirable.
