Interim In-House Solicitor

About the role

IPS Group is looking for an experienced solicitor to join its in‑house legal team on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis. The role will provide strategic legal advice across the business and support senior stakeholders in a hybrid working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice to senior stakeholders, including the General Counsel & Company Secretary.
• Support corporate transactions such as restructuring, investments, disposals, due diligence and membership models.
• Advise on intellectual property, commercial contracts, property and construction matters, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage commercial contentious matters at the pre‑litigation stage to achieve early resolution.
• Assist procurement, compliance and subsidy‑control activities.
• Deliver employment‑law guidance to HR and other business functions.
• Maintain and develop contract templates for sales, procurement and business development.
• Provide internal training on contracts, IP, confidentiality and related topics.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales.
• Significant experience in a commercial law firm or in‑house legal department.
• Strong background in commercial contracts, intellectual property and broader commercial law.
• Proven track record handling complex, high‑value and international transactions.
• Experience leading or supervising legal professionals.
• Excellent commercial awareness and ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.
• Outstanding communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
