Interim IT Project Manager – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

We are supporting a large national retailer undergoing a technology transformation. The interim IT Project Manager will join the technology team for an initial six‑month contract, working hybrid from London, to lead multiple critical IT projects that enhance operational efficiency and the customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of several IT projects from initiation through delivery.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, budgets, risk registers and governance documentation.
• Coordinate internal technology teams and external suppliers to ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Engage with business stakeholders across head office and operational functions, providing regular status updates to senior leadership.
• Identify, assess and mitigate risks, dependencies and issues throughout the project.
• Support business readiness activities, user adoption and implementation processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of project delivery methodologies.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering end‑to‑end IT projects in fast‑paced environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams.
• Excellent planning, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Confidence working with third‑party vendors and internal technology teams.
