Interim Management Accountant – 6‑Month Fixed‑Term

About the role

We are seeking two Interim Management Accountants to join a market‑leading finance team in Salford on a six‑month fixed‑term basis. The role blends core management accounting duties with participation in a wider finance transformation project, offering a varied and impactful experience.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and support the month‑end close process.
• Complete balance‑sheet reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.
• Post journals, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Analyse financial results, investigate variances and provide commentary.
• Support year‑end audit requirements and maintain strong financial controls.
• Assist with data‑cleansing activities to improve financial information quality.
• Review and resolve historical financial discrepancies and reconciliation issues.
• Contribute to finance process improvements and systems‑related projects.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the finance function to ensure accurate reporting.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
• Previous experience as a Management Accountant in a large or complex organisation.
• Strong month‑end and balance‑sheet reconciliation experience.
• Excellent Excel skills and confidence handling large volumes of financial data.
• Analytical, organised and highly detail‑oriented.
• Ability to manage BAU responsibilities while contributing to improvement projects.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across finance teams.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Experience with Oracle or other large ERP systems (advantageous).

• Salary £45,000‑£50,000 plus benefits.
