About the role

This temporary, part‑time position supports a medium‑sized not‑for‑profit organisation in Liverpool’s education sector. Working remotely, you will provide essential financial management and reporting to help the team achieve its mission‑driven goals.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes, delivering clear financial insights.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Assist with year‑end accounts preparation and liaise with auditors as required.
• Monitor cash flow and provide recommendations for effective financial planning.
• Deliver financial reports to senior management with actionable recommendations.
• Oversee account reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve financial processes and systems.

Required profile

• Proven experience in management accounting within the education, not‑for‑profit or a similar environment.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret financial data effectively.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting financial information to stakeholders.
