Interim Materials Planner

About the role

This interim position supports a well‑established FMCG company in Liverpool, ensuring material flow and inventory levels meet production needs. The role is temporary, covering a 12‑week planning horizon and requiring close collaboration with procurement and logistics teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the flow of ingredients, packaging, bought‑in items and other purchased materials to maintain agreed inventory levels.
• Execute detailed material planning over a 12‑week horizon and liaise with the Planner and Purchasing Manager.
• Interpret MRP outputs to manage purchase order commitments and review planning system parameters.
• Communicate with suppliers to expedite deliveries and support the technical team with inbound material issues.
• Replenish internal warehouse stocks, ensure correct rotation, and coordinate with the Transport Planner.
• Oversee internal raw‑material movements between manufacturing sites and manage co‑packing activities.

Required profile

• Experience with integrated ERP planning systems.
• Background in food or fast‑moving consumer goods manufacturing.
• Hands‑on experience of materials planning or purchase order management.
• Proficiency with standard Microsoft packages.
• Confident communicator able to work across functions.
