Interim People Operations Advisor – HR Generalist (Hybrid)

About the role

Reed HR is partnering with a large educational establishment in South East London to hire an Interim People Operations Advisor for an initial six‑month period. The role is hybrid, offering flexibility while providing comprehensive HR support to managers and employees.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for HR queries received via phone, chat or other channels.
• Provide generalist advice across a range of people‑specialist areas and resolve queries that cannot be handled through self‑service.
• Deliver HR administration tasks using the organisation’s tools, templates and HR systems, ensuring timely and consistent service.
• Support the execution of people strategies in line with the People Enabling strategy, meeting service level agreements and maintaining high customer satisfaction.
• Liaise with Centres of Expertise and HR Specialists to understand frameworks, develop specialist knowledge and ensure legal compliance.
• Identify and propose improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of HR service delivery.

Required profile

• Experience in a HR generalist or people‑operations role, preferably within a large or complex organisation.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with the ability to manage and resolve queries promptly.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with HR specialists, senior business partners and external experts.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize workload and recognise when escalation is required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HR administration tools and HR information systems.
• Knowledge of HR policies, employment legislation and service‑level agreement management.
