Interim People Operations Advisor

About the role

This interim position supports a large educational establishment in South East London, providing comprehensive People Operations advice for an initial six‑month period. The role is hybrid, offering flexibility between office and remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for HR queries received via phone, chat or other channels.
• Research and resolve employee and manager questions, escalating complex cases to the appropriate specialist.
• Collaborate with Centres of Expertise to implement HR strategies and frameworks.
• Execute HR administration tasks using established tools, templates and systems.
• Identify and propose improvements to HR service delivery to enhance employee experience and meet Service Level Agreements.
• Work closely with HR Specialists and Senior People Business Partners to ensure consistent, compliant service.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a generalist HR or People Operations role.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with the ability to manage multiple queries.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Ability to recognise when issues need escalation and act accordingly.
