Interim Property Maintenance Surveyor

About the role

An established, customer‑focused housing organisation is looking for a Property Maintenance Surveyor to join its Property Services team in Essex. You will play a key role in delivering high‑quality maintenance and repair services across a residential property portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between residents and external contractors, ensuring repairs are identified, specified and completed to a high standard.
• Carry out property inspections and assess repair requirements, including void programmes and damp/mould inspections.
• Manage contractor performance and coordinate reactive and planned maintenance tasks.
• Provide a responsive, professional service to customers at all times.

Required profile

• Experience in housing maintenance with strong technical knowledge.
• Customer‑focused approach.
• Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check.

What we offer

• Six‑month fixed‑term contract with the possibility of extension.
• Home‑based work with 2‑3 days per week site visits in Essex.
