Interim Registered Manager – 6‑Week Turnaround

About the role

This 6‑week interim position supports a rapid turnaround and stabilisation of a care service in North London. The successful candidate will bring senior operations management experience, deep knowledge of CQC regulations, and the ability to embed new processes quickly.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the service throughout the short‑term turnaround, maintaining continuity of care and operational stability.
• Oversee daily operations, service delivery and performance monitoring.
• Support the implementation of a new system, including bedding‑related processes and improved working practices.
• Apply CQC knowledge to ensure compliance with regulatory expectations and evidence requirements.
• Maintain and strengthen governance structures, routines and accountability across the service.
• Ensure care plans are accurate, person‑centred, regularly reviewed and compliant.
• Complete high‑quality documentation, record‑keeping and audits ready for inspection.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to embed improvements and sustain outcomes beyond the interim period.
• Assist with planning and transition activities at the end of the assignment.

Required profile

• Registered Manager or equivalent leadership experience in a regulated care setting.
• Proven turnaround experience delivering operational improvement and service stabilisation.
• Strong operations management background, including team leadership and change management.
• Solid understanding of CQC regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience developing care plans and ensuring high‑quality documentation.
• Ability to implement new systems and embed new processes quickly.
• Higher‑level professional judgement in regulatory environments.
