Interim Revenue Accountant (3‑Month Contract)

About the role

FlightStory is seeking an Interim Revenue Accountant to own the month‑end and year‑end revenue close for a three‑month fixed‑term period. You will work closely with Sales, department heads and senior leadership to ensure accurate, timely commercial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Own the month‑end and year‑end revenue close, keeping pipelines accurate with Sales and department heads.
• Ensure all billable work is invoiced on time and reconcile revenue between Xero and the sales pipeline.
• Prepare accruals, deferred income, journal entries and maintain accurate revenue coding in Xero.
• Produce month‑end management reports and commentary for senior leadership.
• Partner with Brand Partnerships, Product, Social and Speaking Engagements teams to track performance, flag risks and identify opportunities.
• Improve revenue processes, reporting tools and support the design of 2027 sales commission structures.

Required profile

• Qualified or part‑qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or strong equivalent experience.
• Hands‑on experience running or supporting a monthly revenue close.
• Comfortable chasing commercial teams for information and challenging numbers.
• Organised and reliable under deadline pressure.

Required skills

• Strong revenue accounting knowledge (accruals, deferred income, cut‑off, revenue recognition).
• Advanced Excel and Google Sheets.
• Proficiency with Xero accounting software.
• Spreadsheet automation using Apps Script or AI tools (bonus).
