Interim Supply Chain Category Lead

About the role

As an Interim Supply Chain Category Lead based in Leeds, you will manage procurement categories within the transport and supply chain function, driving value and maintaining strong supplier relationships to support the business during a period of change and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies to optimise supply chain performance.
• Analyse market trends to identify cost‑saving and process‑improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align procurement strategies with business goals.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favourable terms.
• Monitor category performance and take corrective actions when required.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and relevant regulations.
• Provide insights and recommendations to support decision‑making within the procurement and supply chain department.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in procurement and supply chain management within transport and supply chain categories.
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
• Analytical capability to identify data‑driven cost‑saving opportunities.
• Experience managing supplier relationships effectively.
• Ability to work quickly in a dynamic, changing environment.

• Daily rate of £600–£850 plus expenses, dependent on experience.
