Interim Syndicate Accountant

About the role

This contract position offers an experienced Lloyd's finance professional the chance to join a growing Syndicate Finance team in London. You will be responsible for the accuracy of syndicate financials, supporting reporting, regulatory submissions and driving finance change initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain integrity of the Syndicate general ledger and oversee monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Support monthly flash results, executive reporting and the preparation of quarterly board packs.
• Assist with Lloyd's regulatory returns and statutory reporting requirements.
• Lead external audit deliverables and ensure audit readiness.
• Contribute to the design and automation of Syndicate finance reports.
• Support implementation of changes to core finance processes.
• Facilitate data harmonisation between the financial ledger and the data warehouse.

Required profile

• Strong experience in Lloyd's or London Market insurance finance.
• Deep understanding of UK GAAP and Lloyd's reporting standards.
• Excellent control mindset with proven reconciliation review experience.
• Confident communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented approach and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
