Internal Audit – Operations Manager

About the role

The Internal Audit – Operations Manager provides day‑to‑day operational support to the Head of Internal Audit for the Americas & Professional Practice and the Group Head of Internal Audit. The role ensures audit plan coordination, issue tracking, governance reporting and technology administration run smoothly, allowing IA leadership to focus on strategy and assurance.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the annual audit plan and track progress against milestones.
• Manage team schedules and resource allocation in collaboration with IA leadership.
• Prepare Internal Audit Committee packs, including dashboards, KPIs and thematic summaries.
• Maintain the issue tracking register and report status to management monthly.
• Update the Internal Audit charter, governance documents and methodology manual.
• Identify and implement enhancements to audit methodology, templates and working practices.
• Support regulatory interactions and coordinate responses to FCA, NFA, SEC and external auditor queries.
• Own onboarding for new IA team members and manage the audit management system (TeamMate+).
• Run the Internal Quality Assurance process and support External Quality Assessment preparation.
• Track the IA departmental budget and flag variances.

Required profile

• Credibility to operate effectively at Board level and interact with senior executives.
• Strong leadership and management capabilities in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
• Deep understanding of risk management and internal audit standards (IIA).
• Excellent verbal and written communication, with ability to influence stakeholders.
• Commitment to diversity, equality and collaborative teamwork.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with TeamMate+ (or equivalent audit management system).
• Proficiency with data‑analytics tools for audit analysis.
• Knowledge of IIA Standards and internal audit methodology.
