Internal Auditor (Hybrid)

About the role

As an Internal Auditor you will be responsible for delivering a portfolio of audit assignments and quality‑review activities across the General Dental Council. Working within the in‑house audit plan, you will help ensure risks are managed effectively and the organisation operates within its risk appetite.

Key responsibilities

• Agree audit scope with stakeholders and Internal Audit management and deliver assignments end‑to‑end.
• Lead formal debriefs with audit sponsors, provide clear, value‑driven recommendations and avoid surprises in draft reports.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with process and risk owners, fostering trust and confidential communication on ethical and compliance matters.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify effective risk‑management strategies and enhance quality across first‑ and second‑line activities.

Required profile

• Understanding of internal controls, risk monitoring and quality‑review activities.
• Self‑managing, proactive with excellent prioritisation, integrity and objectivity.
• Strong interpersonal skills to cultivate collaborative relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to professionally challenge stakeholders, promote operational efficiencies and identify potential risks while maintaining independence.
