Internal Recruiter

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Internal Recruiter to join our team on a 12‑month contract. Working hybrid in Bloomsbury, you will own the end‑to‑end recruitment process for academic and professional services departments, ensuring a high‑quality candidate experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from vacancy approval to offer and onboarding.
• Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and design recruitment strategies.
• Write and publish engaging job adverts across relevant platforms.
• Source candidates via job boards, LinkedIn Recruiter, talent pools and networking.
• Screen applications, conduct phone interviews and coordinate interview schedules.
• Advise managers on recruitment best practice, employment legislation and safer recruitment principles.
• Maintain compliance with university policies, equality, diversity and inclusion standards.
• Build talent pipelines and produce recruitment performance reports.
• Support employer branding, careers fairs and recruitment events.
• Handle Right‑to‑Work checks and reference verification.

Required profile

• Proven experience in an internal recruitment or talent acquisition role.
• Strong track record managing high‑volume vacancies across multiple disciplines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and recruitment databases.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach.
• Good knowledge of employment legislation and recruitment best practice.
• Experience in higher education or the public sector is desirable but not essential.
