International Finance Controller

About the role

We are seeking an International Finance Controller to join the finance team of a successful international business operating across EMEA. The role is hands‑on, covering financial control, reporting, compliance and business partnering across multiple territories.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full financial control process across international entities, ensuring accurate and timely month‑end and year‑end close activities.
• Prepare and review management accounts, balance‑sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Oversee general‑ledger postings and ensure transactions comply with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Lead the preparation of statutory accounts and support the external audit process from planning to completion.
• Ensure compliance with local reporting, tax and regulatory requirements for each legal entity.
• Collaborate with treasury, tax, legal, HR and payroll to guarantee correct treatment and reporting of financial information.
• Review and support cash‑flow forecasting, communicating funding requirements promptly.
• Maintain and improve financial controls, processes and reporting procedures.
• Act as a key contact for external advisors, auditors and shared‑service teams.
• Support transfer‑pricing, intercompany reconciliations and group reporting requirements.
• Contribute to technical accounting discussions and prepare accounting papers as needed.
• Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency, accuracy and consistency.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and ad‑hoc finance projects.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Strong technical accounting background, preferably gained in audit or financial control.
• Experience working in a multi‑entity or international business environment.
• Deep understanding of month‑end close, reporting, controls and statutory compliance.
