Intervention Mentor – Secondary SEMH School (Bolton)

About the role

We are seeking an Intervention Mentor to join a well‑established secondary SEMH school in Bolton. The successful candidate will work directly with pupils who need additional emotional, behavioural and academic support, helping them build confidence and achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver targeted 1:1 and small‑group interventions for pupils with SEMH needs.
• Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
• Build trusting relationships to improve engagement and attendance.
• Collaborate with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals on individual learning plans.
• Provide classroom support where required.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural or additional needs.
• Calm, resilient and empathetic approach.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour using positive strategies.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Willingness to obtain business insurance and an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
