Intervention Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are seeking an Intervention Teaching Assistant to support pupils from Year 1 to Year 6 in a Sunderland primary school. The role is full‑time, Monday‑Friday 8:30‑15:30, starting September 2026 and will run for the academic year.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver targeted intervention sessions for pupils across all primary year groups.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to identify learning needs and monitor progress.
• Adapt resources and strategies to meet individual pupil requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of intervention outcomes and report to senior staff.

Required profile

• Relevant teaching assistant, childcare qualification or proven experience in intervention work.
• Two satisfactory references covering the last two years.
• Commitment to pupil success and school objectives.
• Strong understanding of the national curriculum.
• Positive, can‑do attitude.
