Inventory and Supply Manager

About the role

We are seeking an Inventory and Supply Manager for a regulated distribution business in Salford. The role offers genuine ownership of stock health, leading a buying team and driving inventory performance.

Key responsibilities

• Own and consistently apply the inventory operating framework.
• Lead, coach and develop a buying team while maintaining KPI standards.
• Act as the primary escalation point for supplier stock and service issues.
• Govern cost price across the portfolio and challenge anomalies.
• Report on availability, working capital, inventory cover and supplier performance to drive change.
• Support rollout of a new ERP system and promote automated reporting.
• Undertake ad‑hoc projects and assist the wider procurement function as needed.

Required profile

• Previous procurement, inventory management or supply chain leadership experience in a regulated or high‑compliance environment.
• Proven track record of managing and developing a team.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability with advanced Excel and data interpretation skills.
• Commercial awareness and confidence to challenge inaccurate numbers.
• Experience in supplier relationship management and stakeholder communication.
