Inventory Counter

About the role

Join Caterpillar's production team as an Inventory Counter, responsible for the precise counting of production material across all product lines in a quality‑driven manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform physical counting of material across the entire site.
• Manage the count process within Glovia, including raising a count and producing a count card.
• Read count cards to identify required areas and part quantities.
• Audit plant areas, checking machines for fitted or subbed‑up parts and adjust totals accordingly.
• Count parts at production, audit for hidden material, visit all locations on the count card, and ensure tag matches.
• Aggregate quantities, verify totals, close level counts, and hand over any discrepancies to the Team Leader.
• Carry out location/store audits and receipt counting as required.
• Adhere to the company's Health & Safety policy and safe working practices.

Required profile

• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Self‑motivated with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate with all organisational levels and work effectively in a team.
• Strong computer literacy, especially Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of material logistics/control processes and systems.
• Experience with ERP/Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.

What we offer

• Base rate of £18.98 per hour (day shift, Monday‑Thursday, Friday).
• Overtime Monday‑Saturday at £25.34 per hour.
• Overtime Sunday at £33.78 per hour.
