Investment Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Investment Manager to join a fast‑growing debt team in Liverpool. You will work directly with SMEs across the North West, helping them secure tailored financing solutions ranging from £100,000 to £1 million.

Key responsibilities

• Own debt transactions from initial enquiry through to legal completion and drawdown.
• Origin new lending opportunities through professional networks and external introducers.
• Meet business owners, advisors and introducers across the region.
• Assess funding applications, analyse statutory and management accounts, cash‑flows and financial forecasts.
• Structure lending proposals and prepare detailed credit papers.
• Present investment recommendations to internal credit and investment committees.
• Negotiate terms, manage legal documentation and ensure smooth handover to portfolio teams.
• Build and maintain long‑term relationships with accountants, banks and corporate finance advisers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in assessing and structuring business lending or debt transactions.
• Comfortable making commercial lending decisions independently.
• Background in commercial banking, corporate banking, SME lending, debt funds, alternative finance or corporate finance.
• Strong track record of managing multiple live transactions simultaneously.
