IPS Employment Specialist – West London

About the role

The NHS in West London is seeking an IPS Employment Specialist to support clients with mental health conditions who wish to enter paid employment. Working 37.5 hours per week, you will be embedded within a multidisciplinary community mental health team and follow the Individual Placement & Support (IPS) model.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver IPS‑based employment support, including career guidance, CV preparation, benefits advice and work coaching.
• Collaborate with mental health professionals, employers, Jobcentre Plus and training providers to achieve clients' employment goals.
• Maintain accurate, IPS‑fidelity records and report outcomes in line with national standards.
• Build and sustain relationships with local employers and keep up‑to‑date on labour‑market trends.
• Provide advice to staff on employment needs and sign‑post to appropriate services.
• Manage a caseload, monitoring progress and meeting organisational targets.

Required profile

• Experience working with people who have mental health conditions.
• Understanding of the IPS model and its fidelity requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organisational and record‑keeping skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IPS principles and employment support techniques.
• Familiarity with benefit systems and local labour‑market information.
