IT Application Support Analyst – Trading Platform

About the role

Talan is seeking an IT Application Support Analyst to join the London‑based CIT Business Support Team. The role provides front‑to‑back production support for a global commodities trading platform, ensuring smooth operation of pricing, risk, market data, P&L, settlements and regulatory reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively monitor and configure the trading system.
• Analyse and resolve technical and functional production issues.
• Field queries from traders, marketers, risk managers and middle‑office staff, keeping them informed of system status.
• Log incidents and advise the core development team on bug fixes and enhancements.
• Participate in a first‑line support rota, including early‑shift batch issue resolution and on‑call overnight/weekend coverage.
• Support release management activities as required.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving abilities and clear communication skills.
• Comfort interacting with diverse banking teams such as trading, sales, middle office, back office, risk and accounting.
• Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of commodity products and related processes.

Required skills

• Intermediate relational database and SQL proficiency.
• Python or comparable programming language experience.
• Good knowledge of PowerShell and other scripting languages.
• Experience with Windows infrastructure and server environments.
