IT & AV Engineer (Cambridge)

About the role

The IT & AV Engineer will deliver information services and technology support to students, staff, fellows and guests at the College. You will combine strong IT knowledge with audio‑visual expertise to ensure smooth operation of computer labs, server rooms and meeting spaces.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first‑line contact for all general and technical IT and AV enquiries, handling troubleshooting, installations, configurations and documentation.
• Resolve issues from initial contact through to satisfactory completion.
• Perform daily checks of student computer rooms, server rooms and AV facilities, taking remedial action as needed.
• Provide IT and AV support for meeting rooms, internal and external conferences, including hybrid meeting solutions.
• Assist with upgrading and maintaining the College’s IT infrastructure.

Required profile

• Strong IT and audio‑visual skills with a customer‑focused helpdesk approach.
• Excellent communication abilities and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Motivation to take on greater responsibility and progress to a more senior position.
