IT Configuration & Repair Technician – Hatfield

About the role

We are looking for an IT Configuration & Repair Technician to join the Maintenance Service Centre in Hatfield. The role supports the full lifecycle of IT equipment – from testing and configuration to diagnostics, repairs and customer deployments – in a fast‑paced telecoms environment.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software incidents on laptops, desktops, tablets and mobile devices.
• Install spare parts, configure devices to pre‑defined builds and stage equipment for deployment.
• Handle tickets in the company computing system, prioritising SLA‑critical issues.
• Perform warranty repairs to OEM standards and document work according to contractual agreements.
• Maintain accurate asset records and a functional location system.
• Implement and sustain 6S standards within the workshop.
• Assist across the Maintenance and Service Centre to prevent backlogs and meet SLA targets.

Required profile

• Willingness to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize workload and adapt to shifting priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract from 27 July 2026 to 27 January 2027.
• Hourly rate of £15.99 (PAYE) or £20.75 via an approved umbrella company.
• Monday‑Friday shift (07:00‑15:00) on‑site in Hatfield.
