IT Field Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an IT Field Engineer to join a fast‑growing UK technology group. The role combines on‑site support across the UK with remote troubleshooting, working on both reactive issues and planned projects. You will be part of a collaborative technical team delivering managed services, cloud solutions and infrastructure upgrades.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site technical support to clients across the UK.
• Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot IT hardware, software, networks and infrastructure.
• Support IT projects including migrations, deployments, upgrades, office moves and new site setups.
• Work closely with senior engineers, project teams and service‑desk colleagues.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, server, cloud and network issues.
• Deliver 1st and 2nd line support and assist with escalated service‑desk tickets.
• Support Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, Windows Server and endpoint environments.
• Troubleshoot networking technologies such as TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls and wireless networks.
• Work with firewall platforms including Fortinet, Cisco, SonicWall and WatchGuard.
• Manage backup and recovery solutions like Veeam and Azure Backup.
• Assist with virtualisation platforms such as VMware.

Required profile

• Strong technical aptitude with a customer‑focused attitude.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Comfortable working in both support and project environments.
• Willingness to travel regularly to client sites across the UK.
